Relationship with Food

Your relationship with food can be influenced by many things including your upbringing, past experiences, mental health, or diet culture pressures.

Many people feel anxious, stuck, or unsure about eating.

At Be Mindful Nutrition, we provide non-judgemental support to help you feel more flexible, confident, and at ease with food.

How challenges can show up

Difficulties with your relationship with food can show up in a number of ways including:

  • Feeling anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed around eating
  • Getting stuck in rigid food rules or “good”/“bad” thinking
  • A history of dieting and battling against your body
  • Feeling disconnected from hunger or fullness cues
  • Feeling guilt about how or what you are eating
  • Avoiding social situations because of food

You don’t need to experience all of these for support to be helpful.

How we support you

Our dietitians are here to support you to move towards a more flexible, intuitive way of relating to food and eating.

Together, we may:

  • Explore your relationship with food with curiosity
  • Support flexible, balanced eating patterns
  • Reduce rigid rules, anxiety, or guilt
  • Make sense of conflicting nutrition information
  • Reconnect with hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues
