Our Mission and Philosophy
Food is so much more than just fuel for our bodies – it brings people together and is meant to be savoured, enjoyed, and shared with loved ones.
Somehow along the way, our approach to food and eating has gotten very complicated and stressful. If you have been feeling this way, then you are not alone and the good news is, it doesn’t have to be this way!
At Be Mindful Nutrition, we believe that life is too precious to waste time counting calories and worrying about the number on the scale. Our mission is to support you to develop sustainable, enjoyable health practices in order to gain freedom from food and body image struggles.
Rediscover the joy of eating with plenty of room for all of the foods that you love!
How do we achieve this?
We use a non-diet approach which is based on the Health at Every Size (HAES®) and intuitive eating principles. This approach equips you with the skills to nourish your mind, body, and soul. Through this process, you’ll find how to reconnect with your body, become more aware of appetite and fullness, improve your relationship with food, rediscover the pleasure of eating, and find your own definition of health. This means learning to let go of any food anxiety or guilt and not having to cut out your favourite foods. In other words: no dieting!
Who is it for?
We work with clients who present with the following diet-related concerns:
- Weight, shape or body image concerns
- Recovery from chronic and lifelong dieting
- Disordered eating – including counting calories, using meal replacement shakes, skipping meals, fasting, or following a strict meal or diet plan.
- Eating disorders – including Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED), and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
We offer consultations in person in West Perth. But don’t despair if you live far away – We offer phone or telehealth consultations too. To learn more about the services we offer Click Here
